They use a large variety of sustainable exotic and native timbers, sourced from throughout New Zealand - Rimu, Kauri, Macrocarpa, Matai, Oak, Rata, Elm, Fastigava, Walnut, Totara, Tulip oak, Red Gum and Kahikatea timbers.  Some varieties of timbers can be limited by the availability.  They are constructed using an end grain laminated timber piece.  This allows the timber's grain and colour to be shown to its best advantage and provides a hard dense surface for cutting onto, ideal for knives.  PVA is a registered Food Safe Glue.  The range of sizes and styles with a variety of timbers' different characteristics, allows you to purchase a board that will compliment your kitchen.  Sizes are Square 240x240x30mm; Rectangle 350x450x40mm; Round 360x40mm, 430x40mm or 430x80mm.  Email me at info@tfanz.co.nz if you'd like to select your preferred timber, style & size, and I will be able to get you a price from Hawkes Bay.  Info on Is Wood Better? and Care Instructions are available.
