160g Inguli Cheese

Inguli is an entirely original fresh cheese developed by Marina Kandelaki, chief cheesemaker and founder of Colchis Ltd. Made from cow's milk, Inguli has a strong, very salty flavour and is uniquely made with a kefir grain starter. Gives this cheese a complex, slightly yeasty rustic flavour and irregular holes. Has probiotic qualities.

So long as you keep this in the fridge, this cheese will last 3 - 4 weeks, and there will be no changes to the taste or texture.  Works best as a table cheese.  Enjoy on a good crusty bread with some butter, and like a feta, Inguli can be used in salads.  It also melts well and can be a tasty topping on hot dishes such as pasta & pizza.  The irregular holes make a slice of Inguli look almost like lace, and it makes a truly unique addition to any cheese board.

A fun way to eat Inguli is by putting slices of it in a bowl of very hot water, letting them melt for a minute or so, then taking them out and putting them on a piece of toast.  This, together with a soft boiled egg, is a very popular breakfast in Georgia.  Enjoy!!

Great with tomatoes & basil and oil drizzled over.
